The Tulsa Police Department has announced the arrest of a homicide suspect. According to a social media post from the Tulsa Police Department, a K9 officer located the suspect in a stolen car. After the vehicle was stopped, the suspect was arrested without incident. The suspect is identified as Ivan Diaz Garcia who is charged in the slaying of 41-year-old Ricardo Estrada.

On November 25, 2023 around 11 PM, officers responded to a local hospital in reference to a man with a gunshot wound to the head. The male victim was transported to the hospital with what was initially believed to be a head injury. However, medical personnel at the hospital determined that Ricardo Estrada had a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Officers were called to the hospital to assist. Officers started the investigation at a residence near Independence and Columbia where Estrada was found inside a pickup truck. The victim passed away from his injuries on Sunday.
