Three people shot outside funeral gathering in Seattle Washington

Three people were shot in broad daylight outside a funeral gathering in Seattle’s Central District this afternoon. The Seattle Police Department is currently investigating the shooting.

SPD reports that its patrol officers responded to reports of multiple people shot near 26th Avenue South and South Norman Street around 4:38 p.m. on August 6, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found a 30-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

The Seattle Fire Department reached the scene and rendered aid. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition. During the investigation, private vehicles arrived at HMC with two additional victims.

A 30-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh and is in serious condition. A 26-year-old male victim was shot in the head and is in critical condition. One of the vehicles at the hospital was also damaged by gunfire.

The suspects have not been located at this time. SPD says a stolen vehicle was recovered nearby and will be processed for evidence. No other details are available at this time.
