According to a social media post from the Wilmington Police Department in North Carolina, units were dispatched to the 2800 block of Carolina Beach Road and Marion Drive around 6:20 PM on Sunday evening in reference to a stabbing. An altercation between two people reportedly led to the stabbing. When police reached the scene, they located two males suffering from stab wounds.
The Wilmington Police Department said they had been struck by a vehicle in the roadway. One person was transported to Novant Health NHRMC while a second person passed away at the scene. Traffic is being diverted as officers and detectives investigate the stabbing. Locals are warned that Carolina Beach Road from Raleigh Street to Holbrooke Avenue is shut down at this time.
Drivers are being asked to seek an alternate route. Police point out that this appears to be an isolated incident.
