The Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas is investigating a domestic disturbance that led to an officer-involved shooting. At Approximately 3:18 AM on November 12, 2023, the Communications Center received a report of a domestic disturbance in progress at 11321 Jim Hall Road near Prairie Grove.

Upon arrival, deputies were approaching the residence when they were met by the suspect. According to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office social media post, the suspect pointed a handgun at the deputies who fired and hit him. The deputies rendered first aid until the arrival of Central EMS personnel. The suspect was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center where he is being treated for his injuries.

Sheriff Cantrell has requested Arkansas State Police investigate the officer-involved shooting. Two deputies have been placed on administrative leave.
