Avery “Peaches” Shorts was a spunky girl who was well known by the residents of the Montgomery Village apartment complex in Knoxville, Tennessee. On the day after Christmas, Peaches would be sent to the nearby convenience store by her mother. She would hang out with friends, visit the laundromat, and finally enter the convenience store. The store’s clerk recalled seeing Avery enter, buy the soda, and leave a few moments later.
The 6-year-old would begin the journey back to apartment 243 but she would not make it. Somewhere along the path she would be picked up by an unknown individual. Locals believed that Peaches was too wise to get into a car with a stranger leading police to believe a family friend was responsible.
Several years later, a gruesome discovery would reignite the case. Did the police have the right suspect? Did that man escape justice and beat the system? Enjoy the video and let us know what you think! Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel where we’ll be posting similar videos in the future.
