According to a release from the New Orleans Police Department, NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on November 12, 2023 in the 14000 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Police say Seventh District officers responded to a call of a person shot just before 6 PM. Once officers arrived, they learned that a 25-year-old male victim had been transported to a local hospital by private conveyance.

The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased a short time later at the hospital. NOPD says investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person or persons responsible as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time. Once the next of kin has been identified, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim.
