Summit County, Ohio – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office reports that it is searching for a late model, blue Ford Explorer after an 84-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck on Tuesday night.
According to SCSO, deputies responded to the 9200 block of Olde Eight Road in Northfield Center Township for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
SCSO says witnesses rendered aid until the Macedonia Fire Department arrived and took over. The victim has been identified as an 84-year-old woman from Boston Heights.
Police say the victim was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where she was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators believe the woman was fatally struck by a late model, blue Ford Explorer. The vehicle had been traveling northbound on Olde Eight Road when it struck the victim, according to SCSO.
Authorities say the suspect vehicle did not stop and immediately fled the scene. SCSO is asking anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Office at 330-643-2181.
