The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office reports that a shooting at the M&S Market in the 1100 block of Pelton Avenue in Modesto has killed one man. According to SCSO, deputies responded to the scene around 10:31 p.m. on December 7 and found a 24-year-old Hispanic male with a gunshot wound.
Police say the victim was shot during a physical altercation between several subjects including two employees of the liquor store. One of the employees, a 28-year-old Middle Eastern male, took out a gun, and fired at least one shot, according to SCSO.
Police say the victim was pronounced deceased around 4:44 a.m. on Monday morning. Police say an unserved civil harassment restraining order was issued on November 14. According to that order, the liquor store employee was a protected party and the victim was the restrained party.
Authorities also say there is a no-trespass letter on file that prohibits loitering in or around the establishment. No other details are available at this time.
