South Bend, Indiana – The South Bend Police Department said in a social media statement that it is searching for multiple suspects in connection to a quadruple shooting in July 2024.
Police say the shooting occurred in the 1300 block of Bissell Street on July 28, 2024. Four individuals were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Several vehicles and homes were also damaged in the shooting.
SBPD’s Violent Crimes Unit allegedly identified four individuals, including 21-year-old Deshon Gates, 24-year-old Jacob Pittman, 19-year-old Termel Reid, and 18-year-old Giovanni Tuggle.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office charged the suspects on December 31, 2024. Gates and Pittman are charged with Possession of a Machine Gun and Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.
Reid and Tuggle are charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon. Tuggle is being held at the St. Joseph County Jail. Gates, Pittman, and Reid are not in custody at this time.
