Shelbyville, Tennessee – The Shelbyville Police Department has announced the arrest of James Howard Reed Jr. from Crewe, Virginia.

According to SPD, detectives apprehended Reed without incident on January 17, 2025.

Authorities say Reed is a military contractor who traveled to Shelbyville from Fort Campbell with the intent to engage in sexual activities with someone he believed to be a 10-year-old female.

Reed was booked into the Bedford County Corrections with a bond of $200,000.
