According to a news release from the Seattle Police Department, a 28-year-old man was shot and robbed of his scooter on Wednesday afternoon. Officers responded to reports of a male shot around 1:30 PM in the 13200 block of 35th Avenue NE. Upon arrival, officers located a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police say the victim was on his scooter when he was approached by a vehicle containing multiple men. One of the men was armed with a rifle and handgun. The suspect pointed the gun at the victim and demanded his property. After shooting the victim, the suspect fled with his scooter and backpack.
Despite searching the area, police did not locate the vehicle or the suspects. Robbery detectives are leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Seattle Police Department’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
