Sanford Police arrest second suspect in live-streamed murder of Lauren Ashley Martin

The Sanford Police Department has announced the arrest of a second suspect in connection to the November 5 murder of Lauren Ashley Martin. SPD reports that its officers responded to a shooting in the area of 1771 Travertine Terrace around 7 p.m. on November 5, 2024.

At the scene, officers found Martin lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to her injuries.

SPD says it arrested Savon Chantay Tyler in connection to the homicide at Greystone Townhomes. Police believe Lauren drove to Tyler’s residence regarding an ongoing argument. They were allegedly involved in a verbal altercation which turned physical.

At some point during that altercation, police say Savon Tyler shot Lauren Martin multiple times. Investigators are aware that the incident was live streamed on social media and say they are in possession of the videos.

Savon is charged with one count of First Degree Homicide. On November 8, SPD announced charges against Lakevia Davonna Pringle in connection to the homicide. Police claim Pringle was present during the altercation and live-streamed it to social media.

Police allege that Pringle can be heard encouraging Tyler to continue the altercation. SPD confirmed that Pringle turned herself in at the Sanford Police Department on Friday. She is charged with Principal in the First Degree to First Degree Premeditated Homicide.
