Salt Lake City, Utah – The Salt Lake City Police Department says a suspect is dead following a pursuit and shooting. According to SLCPD, officers were involved in a pursuit with a wanted suspect who fired shots at officers.
Around 12:18 a.m., the suspect was traveling southbound on Redwood Road. The pursuit was terminated near 12400 South Redwood Road.
SLCPD confirms more shots were fired by the suspect and officers during the pursuit. No law enforcement injuries were reported.
The suspect has passed away. No other details are available at this time.
Update – The Salt Lake City Police Department has identified the suspect in this case as 27-year-old Tanner Cottrell.
