The Pearland Police Department is currently on the scene of a barricaded suspect situation on Old Alvin Road. According to PPD, officers responded to a report of bullet holes in the door of an apartment at 2701 Old Alvin Road, the 300 Building, around 8:45 a.m. on December 1, 2024.
Police say the report was made by a concerned citizen who observed damage to the apartment door. At the scene, officers found that the bullet holes had originated from inside the apartment.
PPD says officers used a ballistic shield for protection while approaching the apartment door and knocking to make contact. Police say officers were met with gunfire from inside the unit.
According to police, the ballistic shield absorbed at least one round and no officers were injured. Police say the male suspect barricaded himself inside the apartment. Police remain at the scene.
PPD asks the public to avoid 2701 Old Alvin Road where officers are trying to resolve the problem. No other details are available.
