Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit and the Special Victims Unit opened an investigation related to a cyber tip on May 18, 2022. The tip alleged that an individual had uploaded child sexual abuse material files to the Internet. Investigators believed the suspect was living in Mebane, North Carolina.

On September 8, 2022, investigators carried out a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and later identified the suspect as 28-year-old Omarius Rhashaa Credle. Police seized electronic devices during the search of Credle’s residence and submitted the devices for forensic examination.

Investigators allege they found probable cause to charge Mr. Credle after the completion of the forensic examination. On November 19, 2023, Omarius Rhashaa Credle was arrested and booked into the Alamance County Detention Center. He is facing a felony count of 2nd degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and has a $20,000 secured bond.
