Norwalk, Connecticut – The Norwalk Police Department says it arrested a suspect who intended to attack a victim with a machete.
According to NPD, the Patrol Division responded to a residence on Scribner Avenue for an unwanted person complaint around 7:30 a.m. on January 4, 2025.
Authorities say the complaint reported that Patrick Norris came to the house unannounced from California and was on the back porch.
Officers allegedly found Norris on the back porch armed with a large machete. NPD says officers secured the area and began a dialogue with Norris.
After 40 minutes, Norris agreed to surrender and was taken into custody. NPD says the investigation determined that Norris had been on the porch for six hours waiting for the victim with the intention of assaulting the victim with the machete.
26-year-old Patrick Norris of San Diego was charged with Criminal Attempt at Assault, Carrying Dangerous Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct.
