Memphis Police investigating officer-involved shooting of juvenile who fled from stolen vehicle

The Memphis Police Department has shot a juvenile suspect during an officer-involved shooting. MPD reports that officers witnessed a stolen vehicle at South Goodlett Street and Arrowhead Road around 5 p.m.

The vehicle fled from officers but was located stopped at 4835 Winchester Road. Officers approached the suspects before three suspects fled on foot. Two juveniles were promptly taken into custody.

MPD says a third juvenile was armed and fled westbound on Winchester. The situation escalated and led to an officer firing upon the suspect. The juvenile suspect was transported to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

A Chevrolet Equinox had been stolen out of Appling Farms on July 23, 2024. MPD says the additional suspects are uninjured. No charges have been filed at this time.
