Brockton, Massachusetts – Massachusetts State Police detectives and Abington Police are investigating the death of a man in an Abington backyard.
According to authorities, APD officers responded to a well-being check on the caller’s male relative at 563 Plymouth Street around 7:25 p.m. on December 27, 2024.
Police say officers and emergency personnel found a male unresponsive in the backyard. Abington Fire personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Authorities later identified the victim as 43-year-old Anthony Leverone. In a statement, APD said the preliminary information indicates the victim died of blunt force trauma.
Update – The Abington Police Department has provided an update on a homicide that occurred around 7:25 p.m. on December 27. Police say they found 43-year-old Anthony Leverone deceased in the backyard of a residence at 563 Plymouth Street.
Police believe the victim died of blunt force trauma and high-impact injuries. Authorities say they conducted interviews with multiple people, reviewed surveillance video, and carried out search warrants on several cell phones.
The blue Hyundai Sonata that was previously sought was located and seized in Taunton. Police say the person of interest was previously acquainted with the victim.
