According to a social media post from Greater Manchester Police, police were called to reports of a man unconscious in the street of Abbey Hills Road in Oldham on November 9 around 11:55 PM. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a serious head injury. The victim was later identified as Vincent McDonagh. He passed away despite the efforts of emergency services.

Greater Manchester Police say Lee Francis Burns of Worsley Street has been charged with murder. Burns has been remanded ahead of a court appearance at Tameside Magistrates Court on Monday, November 13, 2023. Greater Manchester Police is asking for anyone with information about the incident to make a report to police. Anyone with relevant footage, including CCTV, mobile, or dashcam, is urged to report it.
