The Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division is investigating a suspected fatal shooting involving Howard County Police in Laurel on November 30, 2024.
According to HCPD, officers responded to a residence in the 10000 block of American Pharoah Lane for a domestic disturbance around 3:10 p.m.
HCPD says body camera footage shows responding officers encountered a female victim on an outside upper ledge of the residence and an adult male suspect at a window inside the residence with a long gun.
The suspect allegedly refused to drop the weapon leading to two officers firing their weapons. HCPD says officers entered the residence and found the suspect deceased.
According to Howard County Police, multiple shell casings from an unknown weapon and several firearms were found at the scene. Police are not sure whether the suspect was killed by officers or his own weapon.
HCPD says three occupants of the residence were unharmed and no officers were injured.
