Lexington Police arrest two in shooting on West Short Street

The Lexington Police Department has announced two arrests in connection to a shooting on West Short Street. LPD says its officers responded to the 300 block of West Short Street for shots fired around 12:16 a.m. on October 12, 2024.

According to LPD, its officers were at the scene when a female called and said she was injured during the incident. Police say the victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

LPD says it arrested 32-year-old Vandale Taylor on November 20. Taylor is charged with five counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st and Assault 4th Degree (Minor Injury).

Police arrested 35-year-old Andre Franklin on December 2, 2024. Franklin is charged with five counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st and Assault 4th Degree (Minor Injury).
