Laurel County, Kentucky – Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports that LCSO’s detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred off of Full Moon Circle around 4:24 p.m. on January 4, 2025.

The Sheriff reports that investigators responded to a complaint that a male subject had been shot at the scene. Investigators found a male subject with a gunshot wound to the front torso.

The victim was airlifted to UK Med Center in Lexington for treatment of a serious injury. Investigators believe a female was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend when she allegedly shot him.

21-year-old Ivy Casteel has been arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree. She was booked into the Laurel County Detention Center.
