The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has arrested an 18-year-old after a shooting left one dead at a residence on North Betty Lane. On November 5, 2023 around 2:20 AM, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police received a report of a shooting at a home in the 1600 block of North Betty Lane. Upon arrival, officers located a male in the backyard with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The LVMPD Homicide Section investigation determined that the victim was attending a party and had been involved in a physical altercation with another person. During the altercation, the suspect pulled a firearm and shot the victim. Then, the suspect fled before officers arrived.
According to LVMPD detectives, 18-year-old Mauricio Quinteros was identified as a suspect in the case. Later that day, he was arrested by the Criminal Apprehension Team and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for Open Murder.
