Laredo, Texas – The Laredo Police Department said in a social media statement that it is dealing with a reported barricaded suspect at a residence in the 7500 block of Cresta Bella.

According to LPD, police have established a perimeter around the area. Negotiators are reportedly on the scene and attempting to communicate with the person inside the home.

Some surrounding residences have been evacuated, according to LPD. SWAT is also on the scene.

Residents in surrounding residences are being asked to stay inside and away from windows. No other details are available at this time.

Update – Laredo Police say the SWAT team entered the residence and found the suspect wounded. Police say the man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

According to LPD, the residence is a working crime scene and a heavy police presence should be expected.
