Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office announce charges against two girls for trying to frame teacher

Lafourche Parish, Louisiana – Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre and Lafourche Parish Schools Superintendent Jarod Martin announced charges against two teen girls who attempted to frame a male high school teacher for sending inappropriate messages to a student.

Juvenile detectives initiated an investigation into a report that a Central Lafourche High School teacher had been sending inappropriate messages to a 16-year-old female student on December 18, 2024.

Detectives say that the 16-year-old and a 15-year-old friend allegedly engaged in conversations involving inappropriate messages from the teacher using an online instant messaging platform.

After a two-week investigation, detectives say it was determined that the two teenage girls had fabricated messages, created fake accounts, and shared screenshots with friends in an attempt to frame the teacher.

Authorities say the teacher had not sent any messages or pictures and had no involvement. The teacher was determined to be the victim of a crime and was clear of all allegations. According to authorities, one of the students admitted to their involvement in the crime.

On January 6, the girls were charged with False Swearing for the Purpose of Violating Public Health or Safety, Cyberstalking, and Online Impersonation. The girls were placed on electronic monitoring and released to their parents.
