Worcester Police Officers have arrested a juvenile following a commercial break-in. According to a new release from the Worcester Police Department, officers were dispatched to The Habibi Smokeshop at 650 Main Street in reference to a commercial break-in on November 25, 2023 around 3:11 AM. Upon arrival, officers found a male being held on the ground by a witness.
According to authorities, the witness said he was driving by when he noticed the glass door to the building smashed. He witnessed a male entering the business. At that time, the witness confronted the intruder and detained him until police arrived. Police say they corroborated the witness’s account.
At the scene, officers located a tote bag full of stolen items and a hammer. A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime for a Felony, Vandalism, Larceny from a Building, and Possession of a Burglarious Instrument.
