U.S. consumers receive one free copy of their credit report each year. The three largest credit reporting companies are required to provide American consumers with a copy of their credit report without charge. The three largest credit reporting companies include Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.
The annual credit report request will have no impact on your credit score.
Free Score 360
Freescore360.com is just one of the hundreds of credit report scams. The website is owned and operated by no other than One Technologies, LLC, which also owns ScoreSense. One Technologies is registered with the state of Texas as a Corporation Service Company doing business as CSC.
One Technologies is not BBB-accredited. BBB refuses to accredit companies working in industries that are considered fraudulent. Whether this is why One Technologies remains unaccredited by BBB is questionable. But, one thing is for sure, the company has a 1.76 BBB rating.
The company also has quite a few BBB complaints that have been closed over the past month. The complaints are regarding unauthorized credit card charges, which are undeniable.
Sneaky Cancellation Practices
ScoreSense and Free Score 360 offer free credit scores through a membership program. To receive the free credit score, the consumer must agree to become a ScoreSense member. Unfortunately, One Technologies does not make this clear upfront. So, the consumer unknowingly agrees to sign up for a monthly $28.95-membership program and pay $1 for the FREE credit score.
The unaware consumer does not realize the mistake until the $29.95 membership fee shows up on their credit card statement. At this point, it is too late to request a refund for the membership fee. And, One Technologies does not appear to make its membership cancellation easy.
Afterword – ScoreSense Scam – Free Score 360 Scam
If you become a victim of One Technologies ScoreSense, you need to be aware that the $1 fee for the FREE credit score is “refundable.” With the help of a BBB complaint, it is possible to get a refund. Now, as far as the membership fee goes, if your membership is not canceled before the trial deadline, One Technologies will refuse the refund.
The ScoreSense service is not worth a continuous monthly $29.95-membership fee. If you feel the need to monitor your credit score, please do it through one of the main credit reporting companies.
The company also has several Ripoff Report complaints, be sure to check those out as well.
Is ScoreSense a scam? Is Free Score 360 a scam? Free Score 360 and ScoreSense are One Technologies’ websites. While the company is legit, it relies on fraudulent business practices to rake in the dough.
There are tons of credit report scam sites. You need to be able to spot these a mile away. Going through a third-party website to access a credit report or score is risky. Not only are you offering the third-party your credit card information, but also you know nothing about the third-party.
