Hillsboro, Oregon – The Washington County District Attorney has announced a sentence in the case of 25-year-old Mason Isaiah Dominguez who pleaded guilty to attempted using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct and two counts of luring a minor.
Washington County Circuit Court Judge Janelle Wipper sentenced Dominguez to three years in prison and ordered Dominguez to register as a sex offender.
Dominguez worked as a student teacher at Sherwood High School. In April 2023, a student notified a faculty member that the defendant was messaging her via social media, which was a violation of school policy.
When school administrators confronted Dominguez, he admitted to sending the messages. He was fired and escorted from school property. The following day, a second student reported that she was in an inappropriate relationship with Dominquez.
She reported that they had exchanged hundreds of messages and that Dominguez had sent sexually graphic videos and photos of himself and requested she do the same. When confronted with these allegations, Dominguez initially denied any wrongdoing.
Authorities say he later admitted to the criminal activity once the videos, photos, and text messages were recovered from his phone.
