Davenport, Iowa – The Davenport Police Department has announced an arrest following a stabbing at a local Walmart.
According to DPD, officers, Davenport Fire, and Medic EMS responded to the Wal-Mart at 5811 Elmore Avenue for a report of a stabbing around 3:45 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
At the scene, responding officers found an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Authorities believe a verbal disagreement led to one person assaulting another with a knife.
The 24-year-old male victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. DPD says it arrested 58-year-old Wesley Spotts of Bettendorf on charges of Attempt to Commit Murder, Willful Injury, Going Armed with Intent, and Assault with Intent to Commit Serious Injury.
