The Coos Bay Police Department has announced the arrest of a woman in connection to the internal theft from a business.
According to CBPD, a woman was arrested after stealing more than $22,000 from a local business. Police say they received a report of an employee theft at McDonald’s at 772 South Broadway Street on November 21, 2024.
The theft occurred over a period of several months and was related to more than $22,000 worth of bank deposits from the business not being delivered to the bank, according to police.
CBPD says it arrested 28-year-old Melinda McCormick and managed to recover all but approximately $4,700 of the missing bank deposits.
McCormick was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Theft in the First Degree and transported to the Coos County Jail.
