Hughesville, Maryland – The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a homicide on Swann Gate Place. According to a CCSO statement, officers responded to the 6800 block of Swann Gate Place in Hughesville for a report of a body in a field around 10:40 a.m. on December 18.

Authorities say responding officers found an adult male victim deceased. A CCSO statement explains that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore carried out an autopsy which determined the manner of death was homicide.

Police have identified the victim as 60-year-old Paul Sherwood Swann who resided in a nearby residence. CCSO says a motive has not been identified at this time.
