Bryans Road, Maryland – The Charles County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested a woman for child abduction in Bryans Road, Maryland. According to CCSO, an eight-year-old student at J.C. Parks Elementary School was near a bus stop on Hard Bargain Circle and Montrose Road around 8:35 a.m. on December 19.
Police say the student was approached by a woman in a white Chevrolet Malibu who asked him to get into the vehicle. Authorities allege that the child initially declined but eventually compiled.
CCSO says the woman, 64-year-old Krystal Ninette Clay, drove a short distance and stopped in the middle of Chapman’s Landing Road to search for her phone. A local resident approached the vehicle to investigate and noticed that the child was crying.
Authorities say the boy told the woman he was not okay and needed help. The concerned woman notified 911. According to a CCSO statement, officers learned that the driver and child did not know each other and there was no reason for the woman to pick up the child.
The child was not injured during the incident. Clay was arrested on a charge of Abduction of a Child Under 12.
