Car crashes into Nampa house leaving one dead and two injured

The Nampa Police Department is investigating after a vehicle crashed into a house and killed one person. NPD says its Dispatch received numerous 911 calls reporting a vehicle had left the roadway and landed on the roof of a Nampa home in the 1000 block of East Amity around 9:12 a.m.

According to NPD, first responders found a car occupied by three adults on top of a house. The investigation is ongoing. However, NPD says it appears as though the vehicle was traveling westbound on Amity at a high rate of speed and failed to navigate a curve at Diamond Street.

Police say the vehicle hit a berm in a private yard causing it to go airborne before striking the chimney of one house and landing on the rooftop of a second home. NPD says no other vehicles were involved, but there was damage to power lines.

A related power outage has since been restored. According to police, the driver of the vehicle and the backseat passenger were injured and transported to area hospitals. The adult male front-seat passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No one was injured inside the home although the houses have extensive damage.
