Beaumont, Texas – The Beaumont Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on Wednesday night.

According to BPD, its officers responded to the 3900 block of St. Helena in reference to a shooting victim around 7:29 p.m. on January 1, 2025.

Police say the victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

BPD is asking everyone who lives in the area to check their surveillance cameras for relevant footage between 7 and 7:40 p.m.

The victim was traveling on a bicycle at the time. BPD says the victim did not have identification on him, but he is an older black male.
