Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrests man in death of Stephanie Campbell

Saint Helena Island, South Carolina – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 41-year-old Anthony Alfrado Brown in connection to the death of 33-year-old Stephanie Campbell.

According to BCSO, investigators served the warrants for Brown’s arrest on December 17, 2024. Brown was already in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center on charges of Armed robbery and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.

He is now charged with Murder. BCSO says Brown was arrested on August 23 in connection to an armed robbery case. Authorities say the Communications Center received a report of an armed robbery at the Circle K on Lady’s Island two days before Brown’s arrest at 2 a.m.

BCSO says the suspect was armed with a gun, demanded cash, and fled with money and merchandise. Investigators reportedly identified Brown as the suspect in that case. A woman was found fatally shot a few hours later.

Around 9:15 a.m. on August 21, BCSO’s Communications Center received a report of a woman lying on the side of Langford Road on Saint Helena  Island. The Sheriff’s Office said they found a woman lying deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Stephanie Campbell.

Authorities claim Brown was one of the last individuals seen with Campbell when she was alive.
