The Austin Police Department said in a news release that it is investigating the fatal shooting of Xavier Jones Jr. According to APD, officers responded to a shoot/stab hot shot call at 414 East Wonsley Drive just before 11 p.m. on November 25, 2024.

APD says its officers found a deceased person suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. The victim was later identified as Xavier Jones Jr., according to APD.

APD believes multiple unknown subjects forced entry into the apartment by shooting the sliding glass door and fatally shooting Jones in the process.

The suspects reportedly stole jewelry from Jones’ person before fleeing the scene. APD asks anyone with information to call the Police Department at 512-974-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.
