Atlanta, Georgia – The Atlanta Police Department has announced the arrest of 28-year-old Michael Boykin who is accused of multiple assaults targeting transgender individuals within the City of Atlanta.
According to APD, an officer received information that a wanted person was in the area of 160 Ponce De Leon Avenue Northeast on December 16, 2024. APD says the officers found the male suspect and took him into custody.
According to an APD statement, the male suspect was identified as 28-year-old Michael Boykin who is accused of being associated with multiple assaults on transgender individuals.
Authorities say he was believed to be in possession of a firearm and considered armed and dangerous at the time of his arrest. Boykin was charged with Possession of Drug Related Objects.
APD says he also had warrants out of Atlanta for Aggravated Assault, Criminal Trespass, Battery, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
