Allentown, Pennsylvania – The Allentown Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a stabbing at the Sterling Hotel at 343 West Hamilton Street.

According to an APD statement, EMS and officers responded to the hotel for a reported stabbing on January 19, 2025.

Police say they found a 59-year-old female suffering from an apparent stab wound to the abdomen.

The victim reportedly told police that her boyfriend stabbed her in the abdomen as she tried to leave the apartment three days earlier during a verbal argument.

The victim also reported that her boyfriend prevented her from leaving and seeking medical attention by blocking the door.

APD says 58-year-old Frederick Edwards was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment of a Person Over 18, Simple Assault, and Harassment.
