The New York State Police report that an NYSP trooper was injured when his patrol vehicle was struck on the Southern State Parkway in Hampstead around 2:30 p.m. on November 9, 2024.

NYPD says the trooper had just completed a traffic stop westbound on the Exit 22N ramp and was returning to his patrol vehicle when it was struck by a passing motorist. The trooper was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center for a complaint of pain.

Police say the trooper does not appear to have serious injuries. Police stress the importance of obeying the “Move Over Law” to avoid such incidents.
