Arlington County Police arrest Washington-Liberty High School teacher for inappropriate relationship with student

Arlington, Virginia – The Arlington County Police Department has announced the arrest of a substitute teacher at Washington-Liberty High School.

According to ACPD, its Special Victims Unit has arrested and charged an Arlington Public Schools employee with a sexually-based offense and is searching for additional victims.

On January 3, ACPD says police launched a criminal investigation after receiving information that a substitute teacher at Washington-Liberty High School had initiated an inappropriate sexual relationship with a juvenile female student in September 2022.

Authorities say 47-year-old Timothy McGhee was arrested on January 10 and charged with Taking Indecent Liberties with a Child by a Person in a Supervisory or Custodial Relationship.
