Lynchburg, Virginia – The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a juvenile in critical condition.

According to LPD, officers received a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Hillcrest Avenue around 3:40 p.m. on January 9, 2025.

Officers responded to the scene and began investigating the incident. LPD says it was informed that a juvenile male had arrived at Lynchburg General Hospital with an injury consistent with a gunshot wound.

LPD says it is currently unclear whether the two incidents are connected. Police say the victim is in critical condition. No other details are available at this time.
