High Ridge, Missouri – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media statement that it is investigating a fatal shooting on Christmas Eve.
According to JCSO, detectives and crime scene analysts are investigating a shooting in the 6400 block of Highway PP in High Ridge.
The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect is in custody and it appears the suspect and victim knew one another. Authorities do not believe there is a risk to the community.
JCSO has not said what led up to the shooting.
Update – The Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges of Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action for 61-year-old Harold E. Luster in connection to a Christmas Eve fatal shooting in High Ridge.
JCSO investigators allege that a disagreement occurred and Harold retrieved a firearm from the residence. He allegedly threatened another person before fatally shooting his son, 26-year-old Kevin M. Ward.
Luster is being held at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Jail with no bond.
