Sacramento County, California – The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office says a father has killed his one-year-old son in a gruesome homicide. According to SCSO, deputies responded to a residence in the 7500 block of Versailles Way for a family disturbance around 4:15 a.m. on Friday.
At the scene, SCSO says deputies met a female outside who said her husband, 28-year-old Andrey Demskiy, had assaulted her and her mother. The woman’s mother was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that deputies attempted to contact Demskiy who refused to answer the door and surrender peacefully. Deputies learned that a one-year-old male was inside the residence and Demskiy had allegedly thrown the child.
SCSO says deputies forced entry into the residence and attempted to detain Demskiy who became physically resistive. According to SCSO, Demskiy was taken into custody and the severed child’s head was found in the bedroom where Demskiy was detained.
Detectives believe Demskiy was initially involved in a domestic violence incident with his wife and mother-in-law before they exited the residence. Once alone with the child, Demskiy allegedly used a knife to behead and murder his one-year-old son.
Demskiy was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
