Update – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to the death of 42-year-old Lashunda Shmicka McLendon.

According to CMPD, 43-year-old Ebonee Makeesa Rhaman was arrested after being interviewed by homicide detectives at the Law Enforcement Center.

Rhaman has been charged with Murder and Possession of Firearm by Felon.

Original – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting. According to CMPD, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon in the 300 block of Archdale Drive around 10 a.m. on December 13, 2024.

Police say responding officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. CMPD has identified the victim as 42-year-old Lashunda Shmicka McLendon.
