Texas man charged with attempted murder after being wounded in fire

The Fulshear Police Department reports that a man has been charged with attempted murder after a fire in Polo Ranch. According to FPD, a house fire at 31619 Eldorado Lane in the Polo Ranch Community led to the arrest of 46-year-old Pedro Luis Parra Pulgar.

Police say that Pulgar is charged with intentionally setting the blaze with his three children inside. The suspect suffered extensive injuries in the incident. Following an extended stay in the hospital, Pulgar was transported to the Fort Bend County Jail.

He is currently facing three counts of Attempted Murder. Pulgar is being held on a total bail of $2.25 million. FPD says the fire caused significant damage to the home and led to a swift response from FPD officers and other first responders.

Two children escaped the home with minor injuries. A three-year-old remained trapped inside. Officers reportedly entered the home through a bedroom window and rescued the child who suffered severe smoke inhalation.

The child was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment but has since been released.
