The Allentown Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday. According to APD, its officers responded to Freddie’s Bar & Grill in the 200 block of East Hamilton Street for a disturbance and possible shooting around 1:38 a.m.
APD says officers found two adult male victims, a 36-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman. The victims were suffering from injuries sustained for a physical assault and the man had also been shot to the upper body, according to APD.
Police say the victims were taken to an area hospital and are expected to survive. Police believe the victims were inside the bar and grill when a group of suspects arrived and started arguing with them.
All parties left the bar and the suspects allegedly assaulted both victims. During the assault, one suspect pulled a gun and fired it at the victims.
