The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies from Rancho Cucamonga responded to a shooting in a parking lot at 8250 Day Creek Boulevard just before 4 p.m. on December 2, 2024.

According to authorities, deputies arrived at the scene and learned that a two-year-old male had been shot. The child was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Authorities allege that the victim and his seven-year-old brother were inside a truck when the seven-year-old found a firearm in the glove box. The discovery led to the fatal shooting.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division has assumed control of the investigation.
