The Lexington Police Department announced that it is currently investigating a homicide that occurred this evening. According to LPD, its officers responded to the 1800 block of Versailles Road in reference to shots fired around 8:44 p.m. on December 1, 2024.

Police say a male victim arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound a short time later. Authorities confirm the male victim succumbed to his injuries.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name at a later time. Police are not providing any other details.
